Jason Courtney

President

Jason began his career at the very beginning of CNC Foundations (then Helitech) in 1987. He began working as a laborer for the company at the age of 15. Jason worked his way up through multiple positions, including Foreman, Superintendent, and Operations Manager. Over several years, Jason began the Civil Construction Division from the ground up and became the company Vice President. Jason now serves as the company President of CNC Foundations, succeeding his father who started the companies.

Jason was born and raised in Southern Illinois. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his wife of over 20 years and two children.

He is a member of First Baptist Church and chairs multiple fundraising events for small private schools and orphanages in different countries. Jason is a continuous supporter of numerous other charities local and international charities.

John Armington

Vice President

John started his career at CNC Foundation in 2006 in the role of Business Development Manager for the Indiana/Ohio territory. During that time, John was responsible for all Marketing and Sales, Estimating, and Project Management.

Prior to CNC Foundations, John worked outside the industry but quickly took to the position and was promoted to Vice President of the Civil Construction Division in 2012. Since taking over the position, John’s focus has been to build a team of professionals that understand the value of the relationship that will bring experience and value to CNC’s clients.

John is from Anderson, IN, and has been married to his wife, Julie, for over 20 years. John enjoys spending time with his family, duck hunting, golfing, and sports in general.

Mike Haschemeyer

Chief Engineer, P.E.

Mike has served as CNC Foundations’ Chief Engineer for over 10 years, overseeing and managing the engineering department. His duties include overseeing the preparation of design concepts for design-build projects as well as preparation, review, and approval of engineering design submittals.

Prior to joining CNC, Mike worked for a national engineering firm in various capacities including Branch Manager and Regional Engineer Mike’s duties included overseeing foundation engineering services, slope stability analysis, seismic studies, settlement monitoring, mass fill recommendation and observation, testing and inspection of concrete, soils, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, foundations, and soil stabilization

Ray VanAmburg

National Sales Director

Ray joined CNC Foundations in 2012 and has over 25 years of experience in the business development and construction field. He provides exceptional insight in building key customer relationships, identifying opportunities, negotiating and closing deals while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and growing CNC Foundations’ customer base. These abilities allow CNC to expand into new areas with new and existing clients.

Sean Patrick

Business Development Manager

Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota

Sean Patrick came to CNC Foundations with a background in management, leadership, and sales. Having started on the residential side, he knows his way around a set of drawings and job sites.

His prior professional experience in the private and public sectors has allowed him to work with a diverse group of people all over the Midwest. His goal of being a true servant leader means that he’s ready to dive headfirst into the many types of projects that a general contractor, structural or geotechnical engineer, or real estate developer could bring to CNC Foundations looking for solutions that will help win jobs, increase profit margins, and better meet construction schedules.

Sean has a background in baseball, which means you’ll find him at a ballpark coaching or be watching one of his two kids play ball, or even suiting up himself for the Norway Bandits (Iowa). Sean’s hobbies also include working as a developmental instructor and baseball coach, waterfowl hunting, and traveling with his family to historical sites around the country.

Kevin Klein

Business Development Manager

Northern Illinois, Chicagoland, and Wisconsin

Kevin Klein came to CNC Foundations with a background in civil engineering, project management, and sales. His industry experience has made Kevin’s transition into the BDM role with CNC Foundations seamless when he joined the team.

With over a dozen years in the construction industry in Chicago and Wisconsin, Kevin is very familiar with the local permitting agencies, engineers, architects, contractors, and developers in the area. In his role as a BDM, he enjoys and looks forward to the opportunity to offer various types of geotechnical and structural solutions for his clients.

Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and stays active in men’s softball, soccer, golf, and coaching his children’s little league and soccer teams.

John Howard

Business Development Manager

Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas

Before joining the commercial division, John spent three years working on the residential side throughout Illinois and Missouri. He has extensive knowledge in construction and has been trained by our engineering staff on commercial projects.

Prior to CNC Foundations, John spent over 20 years as a medical sales representative working closely with many of the St. Louis hospitals and orthopedic surgeons. He enjoys functioning in a Business to Business environment on challenging projects and delivering solutions that offer the most value to his clients. He looks forward to using his skills as problem solver to find the best solutions for the customers he serves. John is married and has three children. He enjoys exercising, traveling, and following Cardinal Baseball.

Doug Deaton

Business Development Manager

Central and Southern Illinois, Western Kentucky, and Western Tennessee

Doug comes to CNC Foundations with over 10 years of Sales and Marketing experience. Doug’s previous experience working with clients throughout the Midwest allows for a great customer service experience from the beginning to the end of your project.

Doug is a graduate of Southern Illinois University with degrees in Marketing and Political Science. Doug’s hobbies include playing golf, enjoying time with family and friends, and traveling to a new state every year.

Tom Layne

Business Development Manager

Eastern Pennsylvania, Virginia, D.C., Maryland, Deleware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine

Tom Layne came to CNC Foundations in June 2020 from a career in professional baseball. In 13 years, Tom covered both coasts and everywhere in between, playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, LA Dodgers, and finally the St Louis Cardinals. Although Helitech is his first role in civil construction, his years as a professional athlete bring many traits for success. His ability to persevere in competitive environments, adapt to different people and cultures, and his self-motivation to succeed are all valuable assets for his role as a BDM. Best of all, he’s extremely familiar with his territory, having played 4 years in Boston and New York.

Tom may not have specific professional experience within the industry, but he’s been surrounded by it his entire life. His experience with the construction industry comes from the work of his dad, brothers, and uncles. You can tell it’s in his blood as he maneuvers job sites and conversations of the business with fluidity.

Tom is an avid outdoorsman who spends most of the fall and winter in a deer stand or a duck blind with his silver labrador, Charlie. His wife and two daughters are glad to have him “home” and keep him busy with neighborhood bike rides, barbecues on the back porch, and honey-do projects.

Ken Pasols

Business Development Manager

Eastern Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia

Originally from the New Jersey/New York Area, Ken has over 20 plus years in Corporate Sales and Account Management. Ken takes great pride in fostering relationships through the relationship and consultative approach. This method and experience have positioned Ken in the Geotechnical Consulting arena specializing in ground improvement aggregate piers and deep foundations.

Ken is a member of Free Chapel located in Gainesville, GA, where he resides with his wife Tanya of 17 years. Together they have three grown children and two grandchildren. He is also a certified Christian life coach and speaker, where he volunteers at the North Georgia Works Program, a 12-month program for young adults after completing their prison term.

When not working, Ken enjoys spending time vacationing with family, deep-sea fishing off the Gulf coast with his son and close friends.

Chris Petrolio

Business Development Manager

Eastern Michigan, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia

Chris joined CNC Foundations with 16 years of pharmaceutical sales and eight years of construction sales. He has a great knowledge of soil conditions and an outgoing personality. He is hardworking and looks forward to helping his clients succeed with their jobs.

Chris was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, but has resided in Columbus, OH for the past 20 years. He enjoys spending his free time with his two daughters who play softball, riding motorcycles, off-roading, and being in the outdoors.
