Project Estimator

CNC Foundations, Inc is a family-owned and oriented company that has specialized in deep foundation services since 1987. We are rapidly growing and looking to add more to our team! Currently we are in need of a Project Estimator.
A Project Estimator will be responsible for the construction as well as financial aspects of multiple projects. Responsibilities will include qualifying projects for bid, estimating, budgeting, securing contracts and supervising personnel on the project. This will include maintaining the highest quality of product standards, supervising financial aspects of the project while administering quality construction safety practices in order to successfully compete projects on schedule and within budget.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Estimate projects from bid drawings, specs and contract documents. Read blueprints to perform take offs from the drawings and work with company estimating software to originate bid price.
• Prepare and submit budget estimates and cost tracking reports.
• Qualify projects for possible bid opportunities.
• Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements.
• Other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Alec Lenzini

Prior to his current role, Alec was Pre-Construction Manager and Senior Engineer with CNC Foundations. He was responsible for guiding the approach and preparation of CNC Foundations’ opportunities across the country, from preliminary design concepts to final construction preparations with CNC Foundations’ team of professionals. Alec worked closely with General Contractors, Developers, Engineers, and Architects to develop the most cost and schedule-effective foundation solution for their project

Prior to joining CNC Foundations, Alec worked for a national design-build geotechnical contractor for over five years in various capacities including Field Engineer, Project Engineer, and Project Manager. Project technologies included micropiles, underpinning, earth shoring, rigid inclusions, earthquake drains, aggregate piers, compaction grouting, jet grouting, wet soil mixing, dry soil mixing, driven piling, and slurry walls.

Alec was born and raised in Southern Illinois. Outside of work, you can find him spending time with his wife, Chelsea, daughter Peyton, and sons Brody and Archie. In his spare time, Alec enjoys spending time outdoors deer hunting, camping, hiking, and fishing.

John Armington

John started his career at CNC Foundations in 2006 in the role of Business Development Manager for the Indiana/Ohio territory. During that time, John was responsible for all Marketing and Sales, Estimating, and Project Management.

Prior to CNC Foundations, John worked outside the industry but quickly took to the position and was promoted to Vice President of the Civil Construction Division in 2012. Since taking over the position, John’s focus has been to build a team of professionals that understand the value of the relationship that will bring experience and value to CNC Foundations’ clients.

John is from Anderson, IN, and has been married to his wife, Julie, for over 25 years. John enjoys spending time with his family, duck hunting, golfing, and sports in general.

Mike Haschemeyer

Mike has served as CNC Foundations’ Chief Engineer for over 10 years, overseeing and managing the engineering department. His duties include overseeing the preparation of design concepts for design-build projects as well as preparation, review, and approval of engineering design submittals.

Prior to joining CNC Foundations, Mike worked for a national engineering firm in various capacities including Branch Manager and Regional Engineer Mike’s duties included overseeing foundation engineering services, slope stability analysis, seismic studies, settlement monitoring, mass fill recommendation and observation, testing and inspection of concrete, soils, reinforcing steel, post-tensioning, foundations, and soil stabilization

Ray VanAmburg

Ray joined CNC Foundations in 2012 and has over 25 years of experience in the business development and construction field. He provides exceptional insight in building key customer relationships, identifying opportunities, negotiating and closing deals while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and growing CNC Foundations’ customer base. These abilities allow CNC Foundations to expand into new areas with new and existing clients.

Tom Layne

Tom Layne came to CNC Foundations in June 2020 from a career in professional baseball. In 13 years, Tom covered both coasts and everywhere in between, playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, LA Dodgers, and finally, the St. Louis Cardinals. Although CNC Foundations is his first role in civil construction, his years as a professional athlete bring many traits for success. His ability to persevere in competitive environments, adapt to different people and cultures, and his self-motivation to succeed are all valuable assets for his role at CNC Foundations.

Tom may not have specific professional experience within the industry, but he’s been surrounded by it his entire life. His experience with the construction industry comes from the work of his dad, brothers, and uncles. You can tell it’s in his blood as he maneuvers job sites and conversations of the business with fluidity.

Tom is an avid outdoorsman who spends most of the fall and winter in a deer stand or a duck blind with his silver labrador, Charlie. His wife and two daughters are glad to have him “home” and keep him busy with neighborhood bike rides, barbecues on the back porch, and honey-do projects.

Addam Stevens

Addam started with CNC Foundations as a Business Development Manager in 2021. His responsibilities are business growth in the Virginia/North Carolina geography. He started his career after college in 2014 working with many successes in the hospitality/chemical industry. In his former role, he found himself on many construction sites making the move to CNC Foundations a natural fit.

Addam enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, golfing, and cooking out on the grill/smoker. Addam is an active member of Lawndale Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC, and is married to his wife Ashley who is an Equestrian trainer. Addam and his wife Ashley have a beagle mix (Luna) and a horse (Electra).

Bryan Hofius

Bryan Hofius joined CNC Foundations in 2022 after 20+ years of experience in sales across various industries. Most recently, he has been in custom/technical manufacturing sales, gaining knowledge and experience and learning to perfect the micro details.

Bryan is an avid outdoorsman and spends most of his spare time with his family outdoors as much as possible – fishing, hunting, golfing, or just enjoying time together. He has been married to his wife, Laura for 10 years. Bryan also enjoys coaching baseball, basketball, and football for their son, Mason (9), as well as attending gymnastics for their daughter, Morgan (7).

Doug Deaton

Doug came to CNC Foundations with over 10 years of sales and marketing experience. Doug’s focus on creating a great customer experience made it an easy transition into the ground improvement industry.

With the experience of leading large sales teams and traveling throughout his region his whole professional career, Doug has made everlasting work relationships that bleed across all industries. Doug loves the challenge of working through industry problems with his clients while making the customer experience memorable.

Doug loves to spend his spare time playing golf with his friends and family. Doug is a father to a young girl who has him wrapped around her finger. He loves to spend vacation time traveling to somewhere new with his family.

Dylan Johnson

I started at CNC Foundations after spending 6 years in the life insurance industry. Being able to work side by side with people and helping those families make decisions that will affect their future families to come made it to be an easy transition when the opportunity with CNC Foundations came around. “Being able to give each client we have the most enjoyable experience possible is something I take pride in.” Building relationships is something I have always loved to do and look forward to building more at CNC Foundations.

While CNC Foundations is the first time I have been in the construction field, having worked with countless families and people I am confident in the procedures and structures that I have picked up along my time to help be the best I can be. In my spare time, I can be found on a golf course with friends or visiting my mom in Michigan. You will rarely hear me say no to an adventure. With no significant other or kids yet, I am looking forward to building a successful future for myself and my future family.

Michelle Kelling

Michelle comes to CNC Foundations from a 20-plus-year career in event and multimedia production. She’s deeply experienced in proactive management of complex projects involving technologies, contractors, and multiple client stakeholders within rigorous time and budgetary constraints.

Michelle’s clients have ranged from local non-profits to Fortune 500 organizations with a national footprint. No project is too large to be intractable to her disciplined, communication-driven management; no project is too small to deserve her constant, focused, meticulous oversight. Michelle measures her own success by her clients’ satisfaction.

In her off-hours, with more active recreations on hold for the present, Michelle enjoys hanging with her husband, her three children, and her rescue pup.

RJ Mazzatta

RJ Mazzatta joined CNC Foundations in 2021 as a Business Development Manager based in Atlanta, GA, covering our Southeastern market. He came to CNC Foundations with a background in business management, marketing, and sales. He has over 5 years of experience in the commercial construction industry working with general contractors, developers, and architects on a wide range of projects in the Southeast.

His industry connections and construction knowledge have allowed him to make the seamless transition to CNC Foundations where he provides geotechnical and structural solutions for his clients.

RJ earned both his M.B.A. focused in Marketing and his B.A. in Trust & Wealth Management at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.

RJ enjoys spending time with his wife and two (soon to be three) children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing various sports with his children and stays active in training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He is a member of Gateway Church at Suwanee in Suwanee, GA.

Shawn Lyons

Shawn came to CNC Foundations in 2020 after over 20 years in various sales and leadership roles across multiple industries. Shawn has spent over 10 years in both the transportation industry as well as technology. During these times he has led teams as small as 5 people or as large as 75.

In Shawn’s spare time he loves to coach football, baseball, or basketball for his sons Will and Sam. Shawn has been married for over 24 years to his wife Christy and they enjoy traveling as a family.

Jason Courtney

Jason began his career at the very beginning of CNC Foundations in 1987. He began working as a laborer for the company at the age of 15. Jason worked his way up through multiple positions, including Foreman, Superintendent, and Operations Manager. Over several years, Jason began the Civil Construction Division from the ground up and became the company Vice President. Jason now serves as the company President of CNC Foundations, succeeding his father who started the companies.

Jason was born and raised in Southern Illinois. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his wife of over 20 years and two children.

He is a member of First Baptist Church and chairs multiple fundraising events for small private schools and orphanages in different countries. Jason is a continuous supporter of numerous other charities local and international charities.

Ryan Cox

Prior to joining the CNC Foundations team, Ryan was a general contractor and custom home builder for over 14 years. In addition, he also spent 5 years in the mortgage industry as a senior renovation specialist. Ryan brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding in helping people achieve their construction goals and believes communication and honesty are the keys to building successful relationships with his clients. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife of 26 years and their two sons traveling, hiking, trout fishing, golfing, and watching college sports.

Troy Packard

Troy was introduced to the construction industry in the early ‘90’s, working for the CNC Foundations team while attending college. After graduating, Troy lived mostly abroad & traveled extensively over the course of a 25+ year Business Development career in the Oil & Gas Industry. Along the way, he’s made lifelong friends and pursued his second pastime of finding the best local food wherever he goes.

Troy came to CNC Foundations looking for a new challenge and was enticed to make the move after reading the biographies of other team members who highlighted working together to turn out a great service & experience for the customer.

In his spare time, Troy & his wife Laura stay busy filling their calendar with activities for their 3 kids: Aiden, Ethan & Kinley.

Garrett Brown

Garrett came to CNC in early 2022 with over 10 years of experience in construction technology sales and most recently commercial roofing. During these 10 years he created long term relationships and trust with his customers, contractors, and colleagues.

In Garrett’s spare time he loves to golf, whitetail hunt, fish, and spend time outdoors. Garrett has been married for 6 years to his wife Kayla and they enjoy traveling and spending time with their dog Mila.

Ryan Hunsaker

Ryan started his career at CNC Foundations in 2014 in the role of an Estimator/Project Manager. During this time, Ryan would estimate a project and then perform the duties of Project Manager on that job when CNC Foundations won the project.

Ryan was then responsible for managing both the estimating department and project management department when the original department was divided into two. With the continued growth of the company, Ryan took on the role of Director of the Project Managers and oversees all the project management of every project that CNC Foundations builds. He also negotiates contracts for CNC Foundations as well.

Kevin Klein

Kevin Klein came to CNC Foundations with a background in civil engineering, project management, and sales. His industry experience has made Kevin’s transition into the BDM role with CNC Foundations seamless when he joined the team.

With over a dozen years in the construction industry in Chicago and Wisconsin, Kevin is very familiar with the local permitting agencies, engineers, architects, contractors, and developers in the area. In his role as a BDM, he enjoys and looks forward to the opportunity to offer various types of geotechnical and structural solutions for his clients.

Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and stays active in men’s softball, soccer, golf, and coaching his children’s little league and soccer teams.

Craig Steiner

Craig came to CNC in 2019 as Director of Estimating. He brought with him more than 35 years of leadership experience across multiple industries including broadcasting, healthcare, education, and technology. His experience as CNC’s Director of Estimating allows him to evaluate and identify the client needs and how CNC can bring value to them. He is looking to grow CNC’s business relationships in the south central region.

Along with leading several organizations through rebuilding their infrastructure and positioning themselves for growth, Craig spent 20 years coaching high school and college-level baseball.

When Craig is not working, you can probably find him rebuilding or remodeling something and enjoying the great outdoors with his wife of 38 years, their grandkids, and their four dogs. ”
