CNC Foundations was contracted to provide ground improvement for the Merriam Multi-family garage complex in Merriam, Kansas.
CNC Foundations was contracted to provide ground improvement for the Merriam Multi-family garage complex. The structure was a parking garage with retail and grocery space beneath it. CNC Foundations installed a mix of both grouted vibratory stone columns (VSCs) and regular VSCs, ranging from 12 feet to 42 feet in depth.
There were two significant challenges on this project. One was the amount of debris found in the soil. These random sections of debris had to be core drilled out so that the VSCs could be installed. This posed a challenge because the client was on a tight schedule, and core drilling added time to the project.
The second was how deep the existing fill was in certain areas. This required CNC Foundations to rent out additional machinery to get to the necessary depth to reach the bearing capacity needed for the foundation.
Through effective communication and innovative design, CNC Foundations who is your first choice in ground improvement was able to solve the challenges on the project. CNC Foundations was able to provide quality ground improvement for our client. The client was satisfied with our completed work.
